Overview

Grow awareness by logging your Sleep Quality and Sleep Factors at the start of your day. ESNTL prompts you with a scale-based sleep quality reflection followed by a qualitative inquiry to understand what contributed most to the quality score. This aids in awareness growth around behavior impacts on sleep.

  1. The Sleep Quality question asks, “How rested did you feel when you woke up?”. Respond to this question by selecting how rested you felt on a scale of 1-7.

  2. The Sleep Factor question asks, “What had the biggest impact on your sleep quality?”. Respond to this question by selecting from a list of words that could have had an impact on your sleep.

Benefit

Logging Sleep Quality and Sleep Factors allows you to build awareness around what sleep habits work best for you and where to make changes in your behaviors to achieve the best sleep. The subjective nature of the questions allows you to compare your responses to your time asleep, sleep phases, and your other wellbeing metrics so you can better understand what habits work best for cultivating restful sleep. ESNTL leverages this data to signpost you to connections between wellbeing areas by generating insights based on the correlations between your sleep reflection responses and your other wellbeing metrics.

Research

The Sleep Quality and Sleep Factors questions were developed in collaboration with ESNTL’s wellness experts. Both questions were user-tested before being released with a variety of user personas. ESNTL continues to hear and incorporate user feedback to evolve these questions and the factor options displayed.

  1. Begin the Start Your Day check-in.

  2. You will be prompted to answer “How rested did you feel when you woke up?”.

  3. You will be prompted to answer “What had the biggest impact on your sleep quality?”.
